    Selection of drop-out fuse

    The method of selecting a fuse for a drop fuse is that for a load with a small impact current such as lighting, the rated current IRD of the fuse is equal to or slightly larger than the actual operating current I of the circuit.

    IRD≥I or IRD = (1.1 ~ 1.5) I (5-1)

    For loads with a large starting current, such as motors, the rated current IRD of the melt is equal to or slightly greater than 1.5 to 2.5 times the actual operating current I of the circuit.

    IRD≥ (1.5 ~ 2.5) I (5-2)

    The total insurance of the mains of the power supply selected by multiple motors can be calculated according to the following formula;

    IRD = (1.5 ~ 2.5) IMQ + ΣIe (n-1) (5-3)

    Where: IMQ- is the rated current of a large motor in the equipment;

    Ie (n-1) -is the sum of the rated currents of all motors in the equipment except one large motor.
